TIP: if you hover your mouse over the names of the files in your results (image above) you get some VERY VALUABLE information appear in a pop up box. The information will vary depending on your search, but you’ll usually get things such as length, bit rate, track, year, type, title and so on.
This information is valuable because if you know that the TV show, movie or song you want is a certain length, then you can double-check this before you add the file to your downloads.
TIP: To be ULTRA SURE that the file you are going to download is safe you can right click on the file you are interested in and then Advanced > Lookup File with Bitzi. Click on this and your internet browser will open a page that hopefully contains something like this;
Limewire Search Tips
The Compete Uncensored User Guide
There will usually be some information and maybe a rating like the one shown above.
NOTE: nothing is guaranteed on limewire. A good bitzi rating and and thorough checking may still result in a dud file, virus or spyware.
File Types I Would Avoid:
Images: Why are you looking for images on Limewire? Go to Google Images, it’s much safer.
Audio: Download ONLY Mp3, m4a and WMA.
Video: Personally I ONLY ever download avi files. Avoid mov, qt and srt. The rest is up to you.
Documents: Who the hell is looking for documents... honestly?
Programs: AVOID programs at ALL costs. Very dangerous, you’ve been warned.

Limewire Search Guide & More Tips
Now that you have limewire set up correctly it is now time to search limewire to
do what you intended to do when you got this program; DOWNLOAD!
The first thing you need to do is select which type of files you want to search for;
How To Use Limewire - TOP
Select the appropriate file type from the list above and click on that tab.
For this example we’ll be doing a search for the 1955 film;
‘The Fast and the Furious’
The first step here is to go ahead click on Video because we are searching for a video file. If were looking for a specific song then you’d want to click on Audio.
When starting a search it is best to start specific and then if the result you get isn’t great work your way backwards.
TIP: Always type the FULL description into the Title box first.
TIP: Don’t use any of the other boxes or pull downs (Type, Year etc...) as most of the files on limewire are not tagged and will therefore be excluded from your results. You don’t want to miss out on a higher quality file because you didn’t search effectively.
For the abovementioned reasons there is never any instance where you would use the More Search Options option.
TIP: THE BEST search tactic on limewire is to use the Title box effectively and then sort your results.

The mini-screenshot above shows the results for my exact search. WARNING! mov files less than 10,000 KB should be avoided as they may contain porn and harmful viruses and spyware.
TIP: When the green bar is full that means that limewire has finished searching and all your results are displayed.
The result I’m looking for here is an AVI file probably over 350 MB in size. Use your common sense here. The file I want is likely to be large because the actual film is 73 minutes long. It is highly unlikely that an mov file less than 10 MB is going to contain the show I’m after.
The more information you know about the file you want the better. To get more results displayed you can right click on the green bar containing your search term and either repeat the search or get more results (which is just shorter version of repeat search).

TIP: I highly recommend doing a broad search when you don’t get a result for an exact search.
TIP: You can sort the search results by clicking on the column headers (i.e Name, Type, Size etc). You can also filter your results by narrowing your results using the Type menus on the left-hand side (i.e. Click avi, Mp3 or WMA to show only results for these file types).
TIP: The # column indicates how many other people currently have this file to share on the limewire network. The higher this value is the better. The more people who have a file the more likely it is to be a good safe choice to download.
